About Tim Cusack

Judge Cusack was born in Peoria, IL to Jerry and Janet Cusack, the youngest of 5 children. He is the grandson of “Doc” and Vera Cusack and John and Mary Bulger.

Tim graduated from St Philomena Grade School, Bergan High School, Marquette University and Northern Illinois University Law School.

Tim married Anne Madigan and they have 7 children, ages 7-27.

Tim began his legal career with the Peoria County State’s Attorney’s Office in 1989. After leaving that office, he continued to practice law for the next 22 years in both the public and private sectors, representing individuals in every courtroom on issues relating to civil and criminal litigation, family law, adoptions, guardianships, juvenile abuse & neglect, workers compensation, personal injury, wills, trusts, and estates. Additionally, he is an adjunct professor teaching legal courses at ICC, and has been teaching there since 2005.

Tim was appointed as an Associate Judge in 2013. In 2015, a Judicial Advisory poll was conducted which rated the Associate Judges on their integrity, impartiality, legal ability, temperament, court management, health, and sensitivity to diversity and bias. Judge Cusack scored a 98.08% approval rating.

As a lifelong citizen of Peoria, Tim is now seeking election as the Resident Circuit Judge of Peoria County.
